An Update
It has been a year since we lost our Kasey to lymphoma. As many of you know, after her death we decided to setup Kasey’s Cure to help pet owners who need financial assistance care for their sick pet.
Well, a year later we have done just that. We have raised enough money to help a kitten with a severely broken leg, a beagle with cancer and rescued 10 rabbits out of a bad situation in Reno, Nevada who are on their way to our farm right now.
We would not have been able to accomplish all of this with out the help of Dr. Steve Harris and the entire staff at Mid-Shore Veterinary Service who have provided medical care for the sick animals, our wonderful friends Michael and Terrance at EchoDitto who have designed and maintained our website — www.kaseyscure.com, and friends like Treasa Kirby Wales who have provided both financial and professional assistance to help get us started. We thank you all.
Currently, we are working on a new fundraising idea — to put piggy banks through out town seeking small donations. This idea came from Laura Pietzsch of Dallas, Texas. The idea is to have local school children paint these ceramic pigs complete with our Kasey’s Cure logo, display then in stores across St. Michaels and Easton and collect change. I will let you know how much we raise.
On a personal note, we have added Tess to our family. A wonderful Australian Shepherd left homeless after Katrina. She is an amazing dog who loves attention and keeps the goats and ducks all in line.
As always, we welcome your ideas as well as contributions to help us continue our work. If you would like to contribute, please send a check to Kasey’s Cure, 606 A North Talbot Street, Suite 303, St. Michaels, MD 21663 or give right here online.
Thank you for your support and helping us keep sweet Kasey’s memory alive.
