Best Friends Kindness Weekend
This weekend, June 23-25, Best Friends Animal Society is inviting people across the country to perform acts of kindness on behalf of animals during Best Friends Weekend.
I am headed to East Hanover, New Jersey to do my small part. We are organizing a pet adoption fair at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. There will be close to 100 dogs and cats available for adoption including one sweet beagle named Levi.
Levi is a special needs beagle who was rescued at the 11th hour from a high kill shelter. He was given up because he suffers from arthritis which limits his mobility. Levi is a beautiful tri colored beagle who is great with kids and other dogs. He is a wonderful companion – one of one hundred dogs and cats that need loving homes.
If you live near East Hanover, stop in and meet sweet Levi. Otherwise join our efforts by doing a simple act of kindness this weekend. Something easy like volunteering at your local shelter or giving a small donation.
I truly believe that through kindness to animals we can make this world a better place.
